SUMMER HOME ON THE WEST COAST OF ZEALAND, DENMARK
This pavilion-style summer home in Denmark offers a breathtaking 180-degree view of the Storebælt Strait. As a reinterpretation of the classic Scandinavian summer home, the house combines sharp, geometric architecture with coastal nature and Danish design.
Architect Mads Lund of Norconsult Arkitektur and landscape architects Yards designed the home to blend naturally into the landscape, placing the ocean view at the center of all design choices. The wooden facade extends into the interior, bringing the character of a traditional summer home into the room, while large glass facades blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, capturing light and the landscape at every turn.
The interiors feature Vipp's , most notably the bright V1 kitchen in a light gray tone that reflects the neutral palette of sand, stone, and sky. Each item has been carefully placed to maintain a sense of calm and clarity, leaving the view—the true center of the home—unobstructed.
This project demonstrates how Vipp's can create a home that is simultaneously modern, functional, and deeply connected to its surroundings—a sanctuary where architecture, nature, and iconic design exist in perfect harmony.

HIAVENS, COTSWOLDS; ENGLAND
HiAvens is a unique home where contemporary design blends seamlessly with the rural surroundings, making the house a natural part of the English countryside.
The project draws inspiration from the traditional farmhouse—honest, simple, and sturdy—but elevates its scale and refines its form. Rauakivi serves as both a material language and a visual reference; deep, burnt orange tones are echoed in the pigmented concrete walls both inside and out, allowing the building to blend naturally into the landscape, as if it had always been there.
The house is situated on a limestone cliff in the Cotswolds, blending into the natural landscape and offering sweeping panoramic views of the rolling hills. In collaboration with BPN Architects and Rosebank Landscaping, McLaren Excell —Architect of the Year at the British Home Awards 2022—designed the interior to balance the building’s strong, monolithic form.
The living room is anchored by the Zanotta William sofa, designed by Damian Williamson—a spacious, low-profile, and deeply comfortable modular system with down-filled cushions that invites you to relax and linger. The sculptural Atollo lamp from lighting brand Oluce creates a soft, atmospheric glow, while John Pawson’s faucets, created for the Cocoon Bathrooms collection, lend architectural clarity to these intimate spaces.
HiAvens is a home rooted in tradition, yet radical and authentic—it holds you in its peaceful, warm, and protective embrace.

VILLA CAMPAGNA ROMANA, ITALY
Set amidst the picturesque countryside near Rome, this brick villa is a contemporary interpretation of the intersection between Nordic design and the Italian landscape. The project’s designer, Massimo Adario—winner of the “Villa” category at the Best of Interiors 2023 awards by Elle Decor Italia—drew inspiration from Alvar Aalto’s “Casa sperimentale” summer home on the island of Muuratsalo in Finland. As Adario explains: “Although these are two very different places, I felt that Aalto’s approach to engaging with nature could guide me.”
Taking into account landscape and archaeological constraints, Adario designed a 250-square-meter residence featuring a greenhouse and two terraces. The main terrace serves as the focal point of the home, around which the entrance, living room, kitchen, and sleeping area are arranged. The second, smaller and more intimate terrace is connected to the bedroom, offering privacy. “This is a home for my loved ones, where constant dialogue and trust allowed me to work with maximum freedom,” says Adario.
In the living room, which opens onto the main patio, the centerpiece is a custom-made fireplace featuring tiles designed by Galleria Elena. Hanging above the dining table is the minimalist and sculptural Astep VV Cinquanta lamp (designed by Vittoriano Viganò), which casts an intimate glow and highlights the dining area as the heart of the home. Vintage vases and ceramics add character and artistic flair to the atmosphere.
The villa’s interior features recurring references to Nordic design—alongside Aalto, influences from Arne Jacobsen and Finn Juhli are evident. In terms of materials, chestnut wood and metal were chosen, combining brutalist vigor with Nordic refinement. The floors are made of treated and polished brick, retaining a warm texture while moving away from traditional rusticity.

Moragas is a lamp by Santa & Cole, designed by Antoni de Moragas Gallissà, combining architectural clarity with warm, human attention to detail. The lamp’s cylindrical base is made of solid wood, either natural oak or sapele. Sapele is a deciduous tree native to Africa that is related to genuine mahogany. This reddish-brown wood with a striped pattern is darker and denser than mahogany. The base supports a shade made of white cotton fabric, which, when switched on, creates a play of soft light and shadow, where a slight asymmetry adds liveliness and depth. It is said that Moragas also used the lamp on his desk as a small notepad, slipping notes and business cards between the folds of the fabric—a detail that gives the object a personal and almost intimate dimension. Three radially arranged bulbs are concealed within the shade.
Material: sapele / oak, cotton
Dimensions: ∅ 45 × 62 cm, 4.4 kg, LED, 7.8 W, 1,521 lm, 2,700 K, IP20
