Eva, designed by Foster + Partners for the Lumina collection, is a table lamp that responds to the need for indirect light that blends easily into the space. The idea was to create a cone of light - a subtle but inviting flow, similar to that of a candle, that is both attractive and practical. Eval has a lathe-turned aluminium base that houses the electronic components and LED. The glass cylinder is sealed at the top with a conical diffuser. The light flux is projected through a holographic filter, a small primary lens and a large secondary lens onto the upper opal cone, while the LED light source is concealed. Eval also has a tactile dimension: the light intensity can be precisely adjusted manually by moving the ring on the base.
